Our history, since 1949
Seventy years of injectable pharmaceuticals, from the walls of Siena to the hills of Monteroni d'Arbia.
The site today
Our facility in Monteroni d'Arbia.
Industria Farmaceutica Galenica Senese was founded in Siena in 1949 thanks to the vision and commitment of two pharmacists who set out to industrialise the production process of galenic infusion solutions, until then still a craft process, by creating a small production site within the city's ancient walls.
In the 1980s the company, which had meanwhile expanded, was relocated to a new facility in the countryside at Monteroni d'Arbia, just outside Siena, where it is still based today.
In 1985 it was acquired and incorporated into the SVAS group, owned by the Neapolitan family headed by Francesco Fausto Perillo. SVAS, now SVAS Biosana, specialises in the production of medical devices and markets over 20,000 products.
Industria Farmaceutica Galenica Senese is currently led by Danila Antonia Perillo, Sole Director.
This is only the beginning: we hope to go ever further.
